Eliminating 30,000 tons of carbon emissions and 224 tons of plastic Ennostar Group receives major sustainability awards for dual-axis promotions of industrial and educational transformations

The Ennostar Group received two Silver SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production awards and one Bronze SDG 13 Climate Action award at the 2025 TSAA Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards, a bronze award at the ninth Taipei Golden Eagle Micro Movie Festival, and an Honorable Mention from the Earth Solutions Sustainable Education Action Award, fully demonstrating the Group’s continued efforts and innovations in environmental sustainability and social prosperity.

Resource circulation: Building sustainable industrial chains
The Ennostar Group is advancing from traditional linear economic models to circular economic models through transformations in waste management models. The Group successfully developed a gallium recycling technology which was used to process 9,000 kg of gallium, generating more than NT$5 million in recycling benefits. The Group has launched a “Plastic Source Reduction Project” and incorporated automation and AI systems to enable circular reuse of carrier tapes, coils, and trays. In 2024, the Group eliminated 224 tons of plastic and 2,611 tons of CO₂e, achieving a return on investment of 247%, showcasing sustainability values that balance both environmental and economic developments.

Climate action: Fulfilling carbon reduction commitments
The Ennostar Group pledged to achieve 50.4% absolute reductions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2032 compared to 2022, adopting a dual approach combining “source reduction” and “end-of-pipe governance” for carbon tetrafluoride (CF₄), the Group’s main emission source. The Group adjusted adjusting process formulations to reduce use of raw materials, installed local fluorinated gas scrubbers to abate CF₄, and introduced carbon pricing and benefit analyses for the first time, successfully reducing 20% of CF₄ usage, equivalent to 30,000 tons of CO₂e reductions, in 2024.

Social prosperity: Promoting educational equality
Apart from environmental actions, the Ennostar Group also actively promotes educational sustainability. The “LED Science Popularization Sustainable Education Program,” which was initiated in 2024, integrates technical LED knowledge with innovative instruction for elementary schools in rural, non-mountainous, non-urban areas to cultivate science literacy and teamwork capabilities in students. Program courses covered the history of lighting, display and medical applications, and LED ecological contributions. The students also learned how to make their own LED desk lamps and were able to experience energy savings firsthand. This Ennostar program received a bronze award at the Taipei Golden Eagle Micro Movie Festival and an Honorable Mention from the Earth Solutions Sustainable Education Action Award, symbolizing Ennostar’s efforts in transforming professional knowledge into social influence.

The Ennostar Group is implementing ESG principles through practical actions associated with resource circulation, carbon and plastic reductions, and educational equality, demonstrating multifaceted contributions to sustainable development. In future, the Group will continue to strengthen its sustainability strategies and work with stakeholders to build a greener future.
